In-house Solicitor – Commercial / Technology – Newcastle
We are looking to recruit a highly capable Commercial / Technology solicitor to join our team in our Newcastle headquarters and be part of a global team and company. This is an exciting role that spans commercial contracts, data privacy and general corporate matters. We are a late stage, growing, global technology business in the marketing technology market. Some of the key aspects of this role:
Commercial Contacts. Be part of our global legal team working with our sales and customer success teams to negotiate and finalise contracts with new customers, expansions with existing customers, and agreements with media companies that connect with our customers through our platform, and in-bound supplier agreements.
Data Privacy. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and protection laws (including U.S. state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR, ePrivacy, and other global privacy laws) and advise on the impact of the same on our business. Deploy this expertise in negotiating contracts with our customers and other parties.
General Corporate Matters. Assist as needed with general corporate matters including corporate governance, property leases, employment agreements and other employment matters, etc.
Accredited to practice law in the UK.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
Direct experience with a variety of legal matters, including strategic business agreements, commercial contract negotiation, information security and compliance, privacy, corporate governance, intellectual property rights, international expansion, and management of affiliates.
Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation.
Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
The ideal applicant will have experience, ideally in commercial / IT / technology work, and ideally with some prior in-house experience.
